We had 42 people this year - lots of little ones running through the house. 6 year old Maeve proved to all her older cousins that she is not one to be ignored when she swings her nerf sword. She actually whapped poor Luc pretty good in the check.
Kyle and I were up and about at 7:15 this morning - we walked the 5K Gobble Gobble Turkey NOT Trot along the beach. Had gotten Alani up and dressed, but then she figured out what we were actually going to do and promptly crawled back into bed.
Kidlets made 6 pans of finger jello - grape, berry blue, strawberry banana, lemon, lime and orange.
Usual Thanksgiving food - turkey, stuffing, rice, mashed potatoes, gravy, baked yams, sushi: inari, kappa maki & spam musubi, vegetable lasagna, cranberry sauce: canned & home made, broccoli salad, edamame rice, asparagus salad, grilled veggies, spanakopitas, ham, rolls, pies...
Had to refill the raw veggie platter twice. The huge platter of finger jello was totally annihilated. (there's still more in the fridge)
I had picked up the "wrong" type of hot Cheetos, so Alani and I went back to the store and she paid for the correct kind "crunchy" not "puffs".
Last people left around 10pm - clean up done by 10:30, home by 10:45
LA & East Coast Shojis will be back tomorrow for leftovers.
