Saturday - Hollywood Studios & EPCOT

Early wake up again. Up and on the way to Hollywood Studios by 8am.

JULIE!!! Met up with Julie at the Main Gate at 8:30am. Haven't seen Jules in like 8 years????? Squeeee!!! We've been friends since 8th grade. She and her family moved to Florida in the early eighties, so I haven't seen her very much. *sigh* The first time I went out to Florida was in 1986 to attend her wedding. Actually, I made her take to me EPCOT and Disneyworld that week. This was in between getting stuff ready for her wedding, poor girl. I remember getting off the plane and the first thing we had to do was go to the dressmaker so I could have the final fitting for my maid of honor dress =)

Anyway, the first ride we hit was the Rock and Roller Coaster. Wheee! This is W's ride - he's been working there the last few months. He got to introduce his mom to his coworkers =)

We rode on The Great Movie Ride, Star Tours (oh joy, my favorite. NOT!), Studio Backlot Tour, Tower of Terror and Toy Story Mania. W had planned ahead and we had fast passes to most of the rides, so the longest we had to wait was half an hour for the Great Movie Ride.

Remember, the wet shoes, socks and blisters from Friday? Well, the shoes had dried, but the blisters were something else. I ended up with lots of bandaids and two pairs of socks for cushion. Walk, walk, walk. Ouch, ouch, ouch.

Back to EPCOT sometime in the early afternoon. Can I just say that it felt really good to sit in the car for the 10-15 minutes it took to get from one park to the other?

We walked all over EPCOT. We rode and saw whatever we hadn't seen the day before. Ellen's Energy Adventure, Mexico's Tres Caballeros (twice?), Impressions of France, Journey Into Imagination with Figment, and The Seas with Nemo & Friends. Visted Canada, United Kingdom (where I found a lovely spot in the gardens to SIT while everybody else shopped), France, Morocco, Japan, United States and Italy (I found a spot in front St. Mark's Tower to sit and people watch).

When I was in the English garden, I watched a couple of kids find the platypus hidden in a lamp. They had a special phone/gizmo, sort of like geocaching, that allowed them to find hidden characters within the park. It looked like a lot of fun. When they got to the right place, they sent a signal and the light lit up and displayed the platypus (Ferb? Phineas?)

Dinner at Nine Dragons. Kung Pao Chicken, Sweet and Sour Pork, spinach noodles, Canton Pepper Beef, pot stickers, egg rolls, and rice.

We had a window table, facing the lake, so we were able to watch the fireworks while we ate!

Closed the park.
