The BaltiCon/DC vacation that wasn't...

So, a week ago Thursday, I attended the 1st, 2nd and 5th grade music show. Alani's in 2nd and Kyle's in 5th.

Disorganized events make me a little crazy. I guess the plan had been for the 1st graders to sit on stage, the 2nd graders to sit on the floor in front of the stage and the 5th graders to gather in the back. Kids were all over the place as they had no idea where to go... Somebody finally put up signs with the teachers' names in the areas where the kids should gather. There were chairs instead of open space in front of the stage...

The kids were cute. I have no memory of what they actually sang though. My brain was over stimulated...

A week ago Saturday, the kidlets and I had breakfast, then dropped off Kyle for either a soccer game or play date. Alani, K, K's friend - Renee and I went over to Golden Gate Park. K wanted to finish up on some stuff for her ceramics class. As she was limited on what she could reach/lift, she needed assistance - mostly it would be Renee. She and Renee proceeded to trim half a dozen bowls in different sizes. I got to pick out a color pattern for one of the serving bowls. It will be MINE!

Alani & I went over the playground. She had a blast riding down the "slide" on a piece of cardboard and going very fast. She also loves the swings and monkey bars.

K & I ended up having comfort meal of pho & spring rolls at Dragon Rouge.

A week ago Sunday, kidlets came over for a sleepover. I introduced them to Escaflowne. *weg* They watched the first two disks that night and the next two disks on Monday. I have no idea what they'd eaten that day, but they wide awake a midnight - lots of giggling.

Monday, Alani and I compromised about breakfast. She didn't want to go Jim's or Ole's. I did not want to go Ol'MacDonalds, so we decided to try Panera Bread Company. Kyle just stayed out of the way. Hot chocolate and croissants. I think we're going to go for the Challah bread next time too.

Did a little shopping at Borders. Then, we went to see Shrek 4 in 3D. It's basically "It's a Wonderful Life", Shrek style. Surprisingly, I enjoyed it. Dinner at Applebee's.
