Yesterday, Alani and I had a play day. Picked her up after her sleep over with Darby, one of the first with her new school mates. They had a blast! She'd already had breakfast, but was content to keep me company at Jim's while I had mine. She did manage to eat most of my toast and enjoy a glass of chocolate milk.
Went to Kragen's so I could pick up some window wiper fluid. Also for some reason, I am now the proud owner of a steering wheel cover that has paw prints on it. How did that manage to get into my shopping cart? *g* It could have been worse, her 2nd choice was the one with butterflies. While we were in the parking lot, she mentioned that she'd never been this close to a bridge before. So, we walked about half across the Park Street Bridge (if you saw the movie "The Net", you've seen it), so she could take a look see. She thought the vibrations of the cars going past was *interesting*. =)
Quick stop at Border's - a new Junie B. Jones book and a cat manga toy, and a few books for me.
Stopped by Safeway to pick up a few things and then off for a quick to visit with lilacfairy at the snf. Alani had fun picking out purple tulips and blue/purple orchids for Lee's birthday bouquet.
On to the movies - Princess and the Frog! We both enjoyed it and much popcorn was consumed. Okay. I loved the fireflies =)
Afterwards, we did a quick trip out to Dark Carnival. I came out of there with lots of books (hee!) and Alani had an "ugly doll". When I dropped her off at home, Kyle was doing his homework - wearing GLASSES! *G* Yup, he's taken after the Matsuura side - he's definitely far-sighted. He was wearing G's reading glasses, but will soon have his own - prescription at that. He says he has to learn how to give hugs without letting the glasses get in the way.
I definitely got my hugs from both kidlets *g*
Picked up some mocha chip ice cream and headed over to see Lee. Celebrated her birthday with trektone. Hopefully, she'll escape the snf on Friday.
Had dinner with Joey at East Ocean over on Webster. I usually go there for dim sum, but hadn't been there for dinner. Pea leaves, minced pork with salted fish (one of my favorites) and steamed crab with ginger and scallions and noodles. Yummy, but messy. Note to self - they serve both dp and diet coke, so we were both happy.
