A light earthquake occurred at 4:42:22 AM (PDT) on Friday, July 20, 2007.
The magnitude 4.2 event occurred 4 km (2 miles) ENE of Oakland, CA.
The hypocentral depth is 6 km ( 4 miles).

It was a sharp jolt, this one.

Had a weird dream afterwards about saving my lladros and finding one of them had its hands broken off. The only thing that broke during the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake was a lladro which fell off the shelf. The bedroom door did get knocked off its hinges when it got hit by the dresser mirror, but it was a quick fix.

My Lladros went in the 96 quake. Oh sorrow! My beautiful lady never WAS available in the States, and I still have the pieces and the hope of someday having them put back together. She'll never be the same, but hopefully only I will know that.

The littler one (girl in nightdress holding candle) actually survived the earthquake, only to die a horrible death on the hearth stone when I was moving the shelves in the bookcase that had been damaged. Alas!

Hey, Deb, just want you to know you are missed and I really enjoy your posts, and it makes me feel like I haven't quite lost the Bay Area to see your picture come in on my friends page! Take care, and let me know if you are going to be anywhere close to PA--I'd drive pretty far to hang out with you again!
