Something got switched off, reset, who knows? Well, Norton 2007 antivirus - the huge memory hog, probably knows, but it's not telling. Wireless connectivity was back! Then I got a quick lesson on the whys and wherefores so I could fix it myself when things go boom. (yeah.)
Last minute searching and packing for Southern Faire. Still have no idea where my black underskirt is hiding. Wonder if it got accidently thrown in the give away bag? Ended up packing my middle eastern costume.
Loaded up the car and then a quick breakfast at Ole's. Picked up K before 9:30 and then we were off to Los Angeles.
Drat low tire pressure light sensor kept going off. I think we ended up checking the tires 3 times on the trip, adding air - that really wasn't needed. Most gas stations don't even have working air compressors. The ones that work, don't work very well, or the stations charge for it (supposedly illegal, but then you have to go to the cashier to get tokens or have them turn it on and it usually doesn't last long enough for you to check all 4 tires)
Stopped at Iron Skillet for late lunch/early dinner. Dropped K off at Lorie's. Sean & I then checked into Ye Old Travelodge. Quick visit with ame_chan and Emily before the show. Emily is now taller than I am. *POUT*
Sleeping Beauty Wakes: Groovelily, the Center Theatre Group and the Deaf West Theatre combine for an amazing show. Sleeping Beauty retold in song and sign. We had seats just above the left side of the stage. Great for viewing. The music was fantastic (I WANT THE ALBUM!) and I enjoyed trying to figure out all the signing - comparing what was said and what was actually signed. I am very rusty, but I was amazed to see how much came back.
We picked up dinner afterwards at Honey Chicken(???) restaurant.
Saturday - FAIRE! Met up with Rainy, Emily & Sorcha around 9ish. Stopped at Rainy's Synergy for a caffeine fix and then made it to Faire around 11ish.
Hilarious to watch Rainy play the Mother Hen (Mother Bear???) around the girls. All those dangerous males around her baby chicks.
While we were yakking and eating, a mischevious young man came up and put his arms around the girls' waists and casually said "would you like to ride my wood??" *weg* as he pointed to the giant swings. Rainy's expression, Emily blush... hee hee hee hee. He finally took a GOOD look at Emily and asked "*gulp* how old?" Rainy replied "12 grrr". That arm quickly dropped. He looked at Sorcha "and her?". Rainy said "16" more grrr... He dropped the other arm. Then he looked at Rainy and said "and you?" Rainy replied "MOTHER!!!" He took off on run, but then zipped back and told Rainy that she could come ride his wood... and he was gone.
Glass pusher says that this will be his last year at Southern Faire *sniff*. I'll just have to see him at either the crafters faire in March at Fort Mason, Palo Alto Art & Wine Faire in August, or Kings Mountain Art Faire in September.
Yakking and dinner back at Rainy's.
Sunday, BADGER!!! Brunch at Cafe Laurent. Emily's minion no longer works on weekends. *more sniff* That was half the fun. Quick visit from i_am_lono. K & Lorie met us at the restaurant and then goodbyes.
Uneventful trip home. Dinner at Denny's in Gilroy. Dropped off da fox. Dropped off K. Quick snuggles with kidlets. Home.
