Kyle & Alani - August 2004

(no subject)

Since the third grade, I've had bits and pieces of a French traditional(?) song called "Au Clair de La Lune" stuck in my head. *g*

The words and pronounciations have become mangled over the years and probably were mangled from the start come to think of it. Finally googled it (and I do love google) and had that flash of enlightenment of "Oh, that's what I've been trying to sing!!!"

I knew that there was a second verse, but I only remember the bits from the first verse. I also have memories of Mrs. Taber saying that she wasn't sure whether we should be singing this song because of the "pour l'amour de Dieu"

Took the kids to Pier 39 via the ferry. T'was a beautiful day and the kids were very "frisky" and very much into bathroom humor. Oy. Lunch at Rainforest Cafe.

I felt like every other phrase out of my mouth was "No, Kyle!". He did not have his listening ears on. Well, he might have then on, but nothing was being processed by his brain. And Alani. Super Stubborn Girl Strikes Again!

Happy Birthday Mom!

She would have been 74 today. Hard to believe that she's been gone for almost 10 years. I miss her so very much.

Sunday, Sweet Sunday

So Karen was dear enough to let me have my Sunday to myself. Depending on how G's feeling, Karen & I will be switching off spending the night at her place for the next week.

I have tickets to the A's game, but I think I'm going to skip it and catch up with things around the house.

I need to go the chapel today; flowers for Mom.

I see a hair moisturing treatment and maybe a Lush facial mask in my future. 'Tis best that nobody else see the process though. *weg*

Recharge internal batteries day.

While listening to the Giants game last night, found out that the Rockies' third base coach is Mikey!!! Mike Gallego is one of my favorite players from the late eighties - his is one of the few baseball cards I own.

edit 3:07pm... well, went to the chapel and then out for pizza lunch with Karen & Kyle. Alani & Mommy are visiting friend Joanne and going for a long walk with Wally the adorable doggie. Heard that Alani was extremely happy. "DOGGIE!!!"

Didn't realize the pizza from Cybelle's was so garlicky...

Got email that electronic taxes were accepted and all. Have to remember to add debit of $243 for state taxes. Now I just need to wait for federal refund to magically show up in checking account.

And now I've got this stupid song stuck in my head - but it could be worse.
