the Helper
Test finished!
you chose CX - your Enneagram type is TWO.

"I must help others"

Helpers are warm, concerned, nurturing, and sensitive to other people's needs.

How to Get Along with Me

  • Tell me that you appreciate me. Be specific.
  • Share fun times with me.
  • Take an interest in my problems, though I will probably try to focus on yours.
  • Let me know that I am important and special to you.
  • Be gentle if you decide to criticize me.

    In Intimate Relationships

  • Reassure me that I am interesting to you.
  • Reassure me often that you love me.
  • Tell me I'm attractive and that you're glad to be seen with me.

What I Like About Being a Two

  • being able to relate easily to people and to make friends
  • knowing what people need and being able to make their lives better
  • being generous, caring, and warm
  • being sensitive to and perceptive about others' feelings
  • being enthusiastic and fun-loving, and having a good sense of humor

What's Hard About Being a Two

  • not being able to say no
  • having low self-esteem
  • feeling drained from overdoing for others
  • not doing things I really like to do for myself for fear of being selfish
  • criticizing myself for not feeling as loving as I think I should
  • being upset that others don't tune in to me as much as I tune in to them
  • working so hard to be tactful and considerate that I suppress my real feelings

Twos as Children Often

  • are very sensitive to disapproval and criticism
  • try hard to please their parents by being helpful and understanding
  • are outwardly compliant
  • are popular or try to be popular with other children
  • act coy, precocious, or dramatic in order to get attention
  • are clowns and jokers (the more extroverted Twos), or quiet and shy (the more introverted Twos)

Twos as Parents

  • are good listeners, love their children unconditionally, and are warm and encouraging (or suffer guilt if they aren't)
  • are often playful with their children
  • wonder: "Am I doing it right?" "Am I giving enough?" "Have I caused irreparable damage?"
  • can become fiercely protective

hee! That could have been me. :-D

I was having trouble choosing between B and C, as their were qualities that I saw in each of them that matched me. I went with B because it just "fit" more, and I did find Peacemaker to be scarily accurate.

Then I went back and took it again just to see what C would have come out to be. (X was the given. Hey, just like in algebra! How many times do I get to say THAT. My life is NEVER like algebra!) Anyway, I read over "The Helper" and thought... oooh, that's close too. Some things are DEAD on. Still and all, "The Peacemaker" fit just that much better, in the same way "B" fit just that much better. It was funny though. :-)

And resting my eyes worked semi-okay. :-) I didn't need to be up until 7:30, and here I am bouncing awake at 6:20. And that NEVER happens... gah...

sleep on bus. then on plane. :-)

I think the way we mesh best in our "styles" is that we both like to plan ahead but we can both be spontaneous, toss the plan and just go with the moment.

I'm often envious at how easily you fit in with any group of people. You always remember names, details of past encounters. No wonder everyone loves you. Including me!

I'm going to go sit in the corner and read now!

I'm a Nine, the Peacemaker, which I already knew from having taken the really long test. It is scary how much that is like me, particularly taking a long time to finish what I'm saying or appearing indecisive. Still, it was a fun test!

I got a nine this time too. usually I come out as a five, and would have if I had chosen on my first instinct. LOL. oh well, guess I'm a nine today. :)
