false alarm, thank goodness!!!

Got a phone call from Lee around 7:45pm tonight - she said she was feeling weird and would I please take her to emergency. Some shakiness, problems with typing, itchy scalp, and the area around her surgery scar felt weird.

Down to Kaiser we go. It was a packed house. Lots and lots of sneezing, coughing and generally sick adults and kids. Man with bleeding hand - dripped on floor before he was seen. Ick. Another with a huge spider bite. High school kid with badly sprained ankle. Thankfully, due to Lee's history, she was taken in almost immediately.

Me, I got to sit in lovely waiting room. Saw part of movie about sled dogs starring James Coburn and Cuba Gooding Jr.? Nichelle Nichols was in there too. Was cute.

Lee was released around 11:45 or so - all tests were negative - cat scan too. I think it really eased her mind - because the doctor said she had done the right thing by coming in immediately and that the cat scan was negative. Stopped by Jack in the box, so she could get some dinner and I was home by 12:30.

I'm so glad to hear she was ok! I suggest calling an ambulance next time, just because it would get her in to a doc even sooner, and they can keep a close eye on her? Though I may be biased on that, being an EMT :) If there are any volunteer companies around her, they usually don't charge for the transport. Otherwise it can get pricy. ERs can be very disturbing places. Only remotely like the tv show.

That movie is Snow Dogs, and I haven't seen it but it sounds cute.
