Hmmm, behind on my lj again.

Monday was the division holiday party. After much emailing, it was decided to do take out from Buca di Beppo's. I made some major command decisions and basically gave everybody one last chance to pick dishes. (previous emails netted me "I'm not picky. What everybody else wants" - grrrrrr!!!!)

I called in the order the Thursday before.
  • Garlic Bread
  • Bruschetta
  • Spinach salad with feta cheese and warm tomato & onion in a vinigrette
  • Tossed green salad
  • Spaghetti in meat sauce
  • Rigatoni
  • Eggplant Parmigiana
  • Canneloni
  • Tiramisu

Showed up at the restaurant at 11:30am and lo & behold, no food. Order was lost or something. Had to remember what I ordered (more grrrr!) and then wait while they prepared it. Lunch was supposed to be served at noon, but I didn't get back with the food until almost 12:30.

Had fun at lunch - secret santa gifts went off well. I received a gift certificate to Bed,Bath & Beyond (maybe some new sheets???) and lovely pair of dangly silver earrings! My victim liked the gift certificate but really liked the hot wheel cars with the race launcher. =)

Tuesday was a relaxing evening at Foxy's - yummy chili, wine, some Witch Hunter Robin and more KR.

Thursday, was the Department Holiday Party. Lunch this year was at A Tavola. Choice of caesar salad, house salad or soup. Main course choice was grilled salmon, skirt steak in a wine sauce or cappellini with tomatoes and veggies. Dessert choice: raspberry sorbet or vanilla ice cream. Everything was delicious!

The White Elephant Gift exchange was great fun as uaual. The top gifts which had gotten stolen and restolen were: The zen-ish slate fountain, the 4 foot blow up Santa decoration, the bottles of wine, the gift certificates to See's Candy and the DVD 3 pack of 3 Stooges, Andy Griffith Show and something else.

Ah yes, the snowman contest. It was FIXED!!! Brian chose Fiscal Control's snowman. The deciding factor - which he has admitted as true? The fact that they had put his face on all the money bills. *weg*

Frostbyte2 Frostbyte's Snowglobe

Frostbyte's eyes are webcams. His nose is a mouse ball. His mouth is a memory chip. This scarf is cat5 cable. The buttons on his chest? Control - Alt - Delete. The fan which powers the snowglobe is run via a UPS battery pack as are the clapper hands. His head is a 7" monitor case, the snowglobe bottom is a 15" monitor case. He is sooo cool.

Next year there has been talk of pasting Brian's face to the snow in the snowglobe and maybe snowflakes of his face...

Most people went to see Derailed. I saw Zathura - and enjoyed it. I think Kyle might like it.

Friday night, Foxy & I went to see The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Will need to see it again.
