Hmm.. I'm going to New York in August, partially to see my friends's daughter, Shawna perform with the Young Continentals (Christian Gospel group) and partially to torture Mat deer. Dragging Mat to a gospel concert... pooor Mat. Mwhahahahaha...

Shawna did the Carpenteria, CA to Fairbanks, Alaska tour last year. This year, it's the Iowa to New York City tour. Shawna sings, dances and plays the flute. I was really impressed by how far she's come musically. I have to admit that it was fun to surprise her at her concert in San Luis Obispo. I had walked into the church and a chaperone came up to me and asked "Are you Shawna's Auntie Deb? Shawna is over there in corner saying 'I think that's my auntie' - would you please ask her". I may be meeting up with her family in NYC, but I'll believe it when I see it.

Mat got tickets to see The Producers for that Saturday that I'm there. YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm psyched. I do love to see Broadway musicals. We may also be hitting the Sterling Forest Renaissance Faire on Sunday with Mish & Kalli. That would be really fantastic - I'd finally get to me Kalli too. Ack... packing renaissance faire garb is always a joy. It's not the dress, it's the HAT and trying very hard not to squish the feathers.
