Friday was wine tasting. Drove up to Napa - first stop was V. Sattui's. We went to the main tasting room and tasted whatever was available.
Prager Port Works next. Tammy liked the Royal Escort best. Didn't pick up any wines, but did pick up a box of port chocolates.
Much joy was heard from certain people while shopping at Dean & Deluca's. We definitely spent a good hour in there.
Hit Niebaum-Coppola for a final stop. I think Foxy, Tammy & Kev did a tasting there. I enjoyed the late afternoon sun while sitting by the fountain/waterfall. Also almost demonstrated my gracefulness by almost falling into said fountain. I was taking a group picture and I kept stepping back and... But I didn't =)
Met Joey & Lee at Speiseikamer's for my birthday dinner. There were many balloons adorning my spot on the bench... Nemo and Dorrie!!! We all had potato pancakes for appetizers. I had carrot soup and roast duck. Yum!!! Lots of dessert sharing, though both Kev & I opted for Tucker's ice cream. Thank you!
More yakking until very late...
Saturday, we drove down to Casa de Fruta for the Norcal Renaissance Faire. No glass pusher and no weaver. =( Nancy Chien-Eriksen though. Yay! Watched Moonie and Broon's early shows- we didn't make it to 5pm one. Was not successful in getting Tammy to even try on any type of garb. Foxy, we be losing our touch. Nomadia had a new lilac patterned vest coat. Veddy, veddy pretty.
One of life's greatest pleasures is unlacing my bodice at faire's end.
Given a choice, we went to Zachary's for dinner. Still had to wait to get on the wait list. Mediterranean... I was very happy.
Back to the apt. Yakking 'til late again.
If I had thought things through, we should have all brought totebags and stayed in Gilroy overnight.
Drove down to Carmel for a day of shopping and playing in the ocean.
Brunch at Pernille's (veggie omelet with salami). Shopped for a couple of hours and then spent about another hour in Lush. I got out of there pretty inexpensively - just a few bath bombs. Tammy, Kev and Foxy were very bad.
As usual, I misjudged the heights of waves and got soaked. Love it, love it, love it =) Water was not freezing - toes did not fall off after the first few minutes.
I'm pretty sure I fell asleep while others were either talking or reading. ZZzzzzzzzzzz...
Late start back home plus a bad accident on highway one meant we didn't get to Vaso's until a bit after 8pm. I loved the soft polenta - others weren't as crazy - texture thing, I think. I guess I was hungry cuz I ate all the seafood fettucine and I usually take half home. We did the pass the dessert around the table thing again - tirimisu was the table favorite.
Dropped off Foxy.
