The words and pronounciations have become mangled over the years and probably were mangled from the start come to think of it. Finally googled it (and I do love google) and had that flash of enlightenment of "Oh, that's what I've been trying to sing!!!"
I knew that there was a second verse, but I only remember the bits from the first verse. I also have memories of Mrs. Taber saying that she wasn't sure whether we should be singing this song because of the "pour l'amour de Dieu"
Took the kids to Pier 39 via the ferry. T'was a beautiful day and the kids were very "frisky" and very much into bathroom humor. Oy. Lunch at Rainforest Cafe.
I felt like every other phrase out of my mouth was "No, Kyle!". He did not have his listening ears on. Well, he might have then on, but nothing was being processed by his brain. And Alani. Super Stubborn Girl Strikes Again!
Happy Birthday Mom!
She would have been 74 today. Hard to believe that she's been gone for almost 10 years. I miss her so very much.
