Tithing to Mat

Am behind in reading lj - I know I've got to read Foxy's story posts before he gets back from NM on Monday or else...

Ended up working this morning - had to fix two bugs in a program - one I should have caught, the other one because of bad data. Dang. Also got paged by somebody from Parks & Rec to help her with some time card printing issues.

Went to Oakland Chinatown to pick up roast duck, char siu bow and chow mein. Was going to pick up most of the food at Tin's, but it's not Tin's anymore. I wonder if they moved or just closed the Oakland location. (They've got a big one in Walnut Creek). Picked up dim sum at Jade Villa - got way too much, oh well.

I ended up with kid watching duties while Karen & Gayle dealt with turkey number one. Turkey number two goes into the oven tomorrow morning at 6am. By the end of the afternoon, all I can say is that Alani really needed a nap. *Melt Down*. I did get my snuggles while we watched Aristocats for the gazillionth time. She had an argument with Mommy, so she didn't get to watch Lady and Tramp which lead to melt down. Kyle's new hair style (or lack of hair) is very cute. He's had crew cuts in the past and his hair grows back very fast.

Stopped at three different grocery stores today, looking for phyllo dough. Found some at Albertson's, so I guess I'm making spanokopitas after all.

Tonight I need to

  • Wash & cut up lettuce, celery, cucumbers and carrots

  • Slice extra sharp cheddar

  • Make 3 pans of finger jello - strawberry banana, lime & orange

  • Pull out serving dishes

Tomorrow, I need to

  • Make spanokopitas, but bake it at Karen's

  • Boil yams

  • Pick up flowers for obutsudan and tables

  • Pick up 3 bags of ice

  • Get myself over to Karen's by 10:30am

May need to break out the guacamole - Karen made some killer stuff and I've got a wee tupperware of it.
